Oh my LORD! Dachshunds, dachshunds everywhere!
If you follow me on Instagram or YouTube you've probably seen the light of my life, Pepper the sausage dog, on a few occasions now. I've loved dachshunds since I saw one lolloping along near my bus stop when I was 16 and today I got to enjoy the pop-up dachshund cafe in Nottingham.
We've been on dachshund walks before and it's always a memorable experience meeting so many sausage dogs of all different colours, hairstyles and sizes. Pepper is a long-haired dachshund but she was definitely outnumbered today by all the short-haireds! (Secretly they're my favourites because they look more sausage-y.)
My ticket was a birthday present from Jack and it included a free 'puppucino' for Pepper and there was a hydration station so you could help yourself to water if you didn't want a hot drink - something I always appreciate as I don't drink many drinks except water. There were plenty of toys for the dogs to play with, ball pits for them to roll around in and lots of photo opportunities.
There was cake available to buy but, even though they looked lovely, we weren't quite sure the flavours were quite to our tastes so afterwards, we headed to a cafe I like called The Kitchen on Pelham Street. I've been there with my friend a few times as they serve gluten-free and vegan cakes so I decided it was time to convert Jack to their cakes too.
Before I go, here is what I wore for the occasion - a white mini dress from Ted Baker, tortoiseshell sunglasses and of course my Dune slides and Loewe belt. I then added a pop of colour with this orange bag from Paul Costelloe at ASOS.
I had such a fun morning then headed home to write this blog post and relax for the rest of the day! Happy weekend everyone!
