The Best of the Ted Baker Sale

The summer sales are always worth a look. Unlike the January sales (just skip those), there are often some good pieces that you will be able to wear for years to come. It's a particularly good time to peruse the more premium brands like Ted Baker as the discounts are high and the sales last for several weeks, giving you time to eye up the pieces you like best and save up for them.

The all-white trend is one worth investing in because it won't look dated next year - you can wear a white dress like this one any time and it will always be fashionable. This fit-and-flare silhouette is flattering on all bodyshapes and the halterneck is great for summer, showing off that most underrated of areas, the shoulders! Now is a good time to pick up a high-quality sundress like this one so it's ready for next year.

What's wonderful about the summer sales is that, for some reason, they often contain highly discounted autumn/winter pieces, which means you can grab a bargain and wear it straight away! I would highly recommend Ted Baker's wrap coats - they feel and look so luxurious. This one is in the sale in navy blue and dark green - both beautiful colours for Autumn/Winter and navy blue is essentially a neutral anyway. There's also a similar style in a beautifully classic black-and-white check. I'd recommend sizing down in these coats.

You'd expect the summer sales to be full of seasonal trend pieces that didn't sell but you can often find discounted classics like this camel blazer. Blazers never go out of style but are particularly 'in' again this year and you can't do much better than a camel one from Ted Baker. Blazers look great for day and night and can be styled up for so many occasions so it's definitely worth picking one up while they're on offer.

I think this is such a beautiful transitional dress that would work so well in Autumn with ankle boots and a trenchcoat, but equally well in Spring as the weather begins to warm up again. These are the kinds of pieces to keep your eye out for in the sale - ones you can wear throughout the year so the cost per wear is as low as possible.

Another timeless piece at a hefty discount! This white jumper with lace trim detail would be such a beautiful piece for work. Remember how I gave you some ideas for wearing the lingerie trend in the workplace? This jumper ticks that trend nicely while still keeping things conservative.

I'd be unwilling to pay full price for this faux suede skirt as it's 100% polyester but £50 is a perfectly reasonable price. Remember, this is a premium brand, yet this skirt is around the price level of more affordable shops like Topshop and Warehouse. This is another classic piece that will stand the test of time and will work well for the transitional seasons - plus, the fact that it's not real suede can actually be a bonus, since it will be less affected by the rain.

Ted Baker bring out a version of this boot every year so why not pick up last year's version at a big discount? Riding-style boots are on trend this AW (not that they ever really go out of style) so if it's a style you know you'll wear over and over again, it's worth picking up this more premium version. (Note: these are real suede so be sure to protect them with a shoe spray.)

Another classic piece that won't look dated no matter how many years you wear it, and it's also half price? Yes please! If you live in England like me, you can never have too many jumpers in varying levels of chunk and an array of neutral tones so it's well worth adding this classic knit to your wardrobe while it's heavily discounted.

This layered pink jumper is such a classic Ted Baker design. They bring out an updated version each year so again, you may as well grab last year's version while it's discounted. If your style is romantic and/or preppy, this would be such a pretty, quirky addition to your wardrobe. It's smart enough for work but fun enough to wear casually as well.

Finally, I just had to include this gorgeous maxi dress while it's got a whopping £100 off the original price. If you have a special occasion coming up and you have some money to burn, this would be perfect. It would make a beautiful bridesmaid's dress or perhaps you just want to make a big statement next time you go on holiday (I think we will all be treating ourselves to some fabulous holiday outfits after so many of us have sadly had our trips cancelled this year). The misty floral pattern is stand-out yet classic and will still look stunning in years to come, while the keyhole halterneck keeps the dress looking young.

I could go on all day - Ted Baker are one of my absolute favourite brands - but let's leave it there for now! If you pick up any of these pieces or find any other gems, let me know in the comments - I'd love to see what you picked up!
