What I’ve Been Wearing Lately

1) The Comfiest Dress on the High Street

It would be very easy for this post to be all about just one item of clothing - my amazingly stylish, amazingly comfortable floral maxi dress from H&M. It’s not only comfortable and figure-flattering, it’s also really versatile - I’ve been wearing it with a sunhat and flip-flops when I nip the dog out and I also wore it with nude heels and my blush pink crossbody bag for a more glammed-up dinner look.

If you look at my Instagram, you’ll see I’ve been wearing this dress NONSTOP! (Who else has the Hamilton soundtrack stuck in their head?)

2) This Cool, Relaxed Cardigan

When I’m not wearing the H&M dress (pretty much only when it’s in the laundry!), I’ve been loving my ivory cardigan from Topshop. It’s great for working from home - before I bought this cardigan, I was wearing my dressing gown on chillier days, which is nowhere near as fashionable! It is quite a relaxed style so it’s definitely more for casual occasions.

Because it’s a lovely neutral colour, it’s extremely versatile (a bit of a theme when it comes to all of the items in this blog post) and goes with lots of other things in my wardrobe. My favourite way to wear it is with a pair of culottes and a silk vest, as this is just so comfortable for working from home - feels like wearing PJs!

3) The Leather Jacket That Was Made For Me

Something else I’ve been wearing all the time lately is my faux leather jacket from French Connection. This was such a good buy! I was unsure whether a leather jacket would work with my personal style but I’m so glad I took a risk. It’s great for less desirable weather with jeans and wellies but it can also be paired beautifully with a floral dress to rock it up a bit. It’s so perfect for me that it’s almost funny - I think if I could’ve designed the perfect jacket for my bodyshape, it would’ve been this. There is no biker-style ribbing on the sleeves and the jacket flares over the hips into a peplum hem that you can adjust to make as prominent or as subtle as you like.

One of my favourite things about this jacket is that it can be worn throughout the year - even in summer, as we’ve had a pretty mild summer here in Britain this year! If it gets too hot, it’s small enough that you can just take it off and carry it around with you. I love to get as much wear as possible out of my clothes so it’s always pleasing when a piece of clothing can be worn in all seasons.

4) The Shoes That Feel Like Slippers

These sandals are so ridiculously comfortable that I’ve actually been wearing them around the house in place of slippers (I need to stop that as we’ve just had new floors!). They go with all the summer pieces in my wardrobe as they are a beautiful neutral tan colour. Now I just need a bag to go with them…

Obviously Hermes-inspired, these flat sandals have been perfect for nearly every occasion. I wear them a lot on dog walks and on trips to the shops. They are the sort of shoe that you just want to buy in every single colour.
